Homecoming Queen and King

Lauren Speerhas and Dean Bradley were named the University of Mount Union’s 2010 Homecoming King and Queen during the halftime of the Mount Union vs Capital football game on October 23.
Speerhas, a communication major of Industry, Pennsylvania, is president of Alpha Delta Pi, a student coordinator of Preview and Orientation and a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and Order of Omega. She is also the former recruitment vice president of Alpha Delta Pi and a former member of First Year Experience and GAMMA.
Bradley, a communication major of Canton, Ohio, is a member of the Black Student Union, Dowling Mentor Program and Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He has also been a member of the American Marketing Society, a community educator and a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and First Year Experience.
Others in contention for queen included Deirdre Dick, Laura Griffin, Abby Honaker, Kristin Reeder and Lauren Speerhas.
Dick, a senior chemistry major of Mansfield, Ohio, is the vice president of the American Chemistry Society, a captain of the women's soccer team and a member of Alpha Chi Omega, National Science Teachers Association and M Club.
Griffin, a business administration major of Flushing, Ohio, is the president of Delta Sigma Tau, president of Tau Pi Phi, coordinator of the After Hours Program, treasurer of Order of Omega and a Preview and Orientation guide. She has also been named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Griffin was also vice president of Panhellenic Council and a member Pre-Health Professional Club, GAMMA and First Year Experience.
Honaker, an English writing major of Fresno, Ohio, is the secretary of After Hours, the secretary of GAMMA, executive director of Up 'til Dawn, president of Order of Omega, student coordinator of Preview and Orientation, vice president of programming for Panhellenic Council and a member of Alpha Delta Pi, Calliope and Kappa Delta Pi. She was also a participant and student leader on the wilderness experience, a coordinator for Emerging Leaders, president of Panhellenic Council and an advocate for First Year Experience.
Reeder, a history major of Hilliard, Ohio, is the vice president for Panhellenic Council, secretary of Mount Union’s History Society, treasurer of the Feminist Majority Foundation and secretary of Order of Omega. She is also a member of Alpha Xi Delta and a Preview and Orientation guide. Reeder has also been a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Sophomore Service, First Year Experience, residence life staff and the president of the Association of Women Students.
Others in contention for king included Adam Hoyt, Taylor Sowers, Evan Tierney and Will Warren.
Hoyt, a sport business major of Canal Winchester, Ohio, is a community educator and a member of the men’s soccer team and M Club.
Sowers, a middle childhood education major of McDonald, Ohio, is the president of the Student National Education Association and a member of the residence life staff and Alpha Pi Omega. He has also been a member of the American Chemistry Society and First Year Experience.
Tierney, a media computing major of Kent, Ohio, is the program director of the Interfraternity Council, vice president of Order of Omega and a member of Alpha Tau Omega and the honors program. He was also the former vice president, risk management chair, formal recruitment chair and judicial board chairman of Alpha Tau Omega.
Warren, a sports business major of Cleveland, Ohio, is the vice president of the Black Student Union and a member of the Sport Business Association, Studio M, M Club and Student Senate. He also serves as Preview and Orientation guide. Warren has also been a member of First Year Experience, a member of the men's basketball team and a community educator.
