34th Annual Run-A-MUC 5k Race

ALLIANCE, Ohio—­­ The University of Mount Union will host its 34th annual Run-A-MUC 5K and Kids Races on Saturday, September 30.

Race day check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex lobby with the race scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. The Kid’s Race, open to children ages 10 and under, will immediately follow the Run-A-MUC Race and will take place in Mount Union Stadium.

Run-A-MUC participants must read and agree to the waiver on the registration form before partaking in the race. Walk-up registrations will be accepted on the day of the event, but to receive a race shirt and an all-you-can-eat brunch ticket, participants must pre-register by September 30.

The 3.1 mile course will begin on Hartshorn Avenue and finish inside Mount Union Stadium. The route is mostly flat and winds through residential areas near the University. Volunteers will be positioned throughout the course with signage and water stations. Fruit will be provided for racers at the finish line. Maps for the course will be available at check-in.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the first two finishers in each age group. The top overall male and female runners will be awarded with a pair of running shoes valued up to $150 from the New England Running Company, compliments of alumnus Dave Menosky ’80. Prizes will be awarded at the ceremony in the stadium following the race.
