Maintenance Staff - General Trades - MAAC & Athletic Facilities
Monday - Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm
Repair, replace, and service all maintenance equipment and building support systems in the McPherson Academic & Athletic Complex (MAAC) and all athletic facilities on campus involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and heating/ventilating/air conditioning equipment. Perform other work, as needed, to properly maintain all athletic fields, locker rooms, and varsity competition venues.
Perform routine work assignments to assist all areas of the Maintenance Department in their mission to provide a clean, comfortable and well maintained facility. Complete work orders as assigned including repairing and replacing: light bulbs, sinks, showers, toilets, urinals, windows, doors, locksets/carpentry components, painting, drywall patching, and servicing heating/ventilating/and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment. Operate floor care equipment in the Peterson Field House indoor track facility and Timken main and auxiliary gymnasiums.
Previous experience working in a maintenance background required. Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry trades. Experience in floor care and landscaping helpful, but not required. A positive work attitude and a willingness to work together as a team are essential. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be available to work any shift, if needed. Must be able to lift 80 pounds and perform physical work. A valid Ohio Driver’s License is required to operate University vehicles.
