Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Justice, Diversity, and Interdisciplinary Studies (JDIH)!

JDIH serves as home to a broad array of programs that are critical to understanding the world we live in and to working to change it for the better. We offer a variety of courses in the Integrative Core, along with minors in five areas — Africana studies, gender and sexuality studies, peacebuilding and social justice, philosophy, and religious studies.

Each of these programs is an excellent complement to any major program of study at Mount Union. Courses in JDIH will open up new doors to meaningful careers and life pathways, enrich your engagement with the world, enhance your ability to address critical issues in society, and deepen your understanding of human experience. If you are interested in improving your local and global community, learning about new cultures and ways of thinking, and discussing difficult and controversial issues, check out our course offerings! Please feel free to contact me or any of our JDIH faculty with questions or inquiries.
