Requirements for a Major in Accounting

Required Accounting Courses

  • Financial Accounting
  • Managerial Accounting
  • Federal Taxation I
  • Intermediate Accounting I
  • Intermediate Accounting II
  • Auditing
  • Accounting Issues and Problems (SCE)

Three additional accounting courses from the following:

  • Advanced Cost Accounting
  • Advanced Accounting
  • Federal Taxation II
  • Seminar in Accounting

Required Departmental Courses

  • Exploring and Evaluating Life Options
  • Business Law I or Business Law II
  • Pursuing Personal Life and Career Plans
  • Applied Strategy
  • Introduction to Microeconomics
  • Introduction to Macroeconomics
  • Quantitative Methods for Business or Calculus I

Required Extra-Departmental Courses

  • Elementary Statistics 

**A Senior Culminating Experience is required of all students. Students who major in accounting must complete ACC 455 Accounting Issues and Problems as their Senior Culminating Experience.

Requirements for a Minor in Accounting
