Activities scheduled for Mount Union College Parents and Family Day

Mount Union College will welcome the parents and other family members of current students to campus on September 30 for Parents' and Family Day 2006.

Check-in and ticket pick-up for Mount Union College's Parents' and Family Day will be at 9 a.m. in the Hoover-Price Campus Center East Room.

Following ticket pick-up, parents can join faculty and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Dr. Patricia Draves for breakfast and conversation.

The Legacy Luncheon will be held in the Campus Grounds for current students and their parents and/or grandparents who are Mount Union graduates. To register for the Legacy Luncheon, contact the Office of Alumni and College Activities at (330) 823-2030.

For those not attending the Legacy Luncheon, a 'Taste of Alliance' will be set up on the quad featuring the offerings of local restaurants and vendors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Three information sessions will be held from 1:30 p.m.-3:50 p.m. in the Hoover-Price Campus Center on the topics of 'Homesickness and Transition,' 'Midterms 101' and 'Campus Involvement.'

Campus tours begin at 4 p.m, departing every 10 minutes from the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Following tours, guests are invited to attend the Mount Union College Family Cookout on the quad to celebrate the M Club Hall of Fame inductees for 2006. Tickets for the cookout are $8.25 and can be purchased at the tents located in the quad. Students on a Mount Union meal plan will be admitted to the cookout free of charge by swiping their Purple Plus Cards.

The night will end with the Mount Union Purple Raiders taking on Heidelberg College in the Mount Union Stadium. Mount Union students have free admission to the football game for end zone bleacher seats, but if students wish to sit with their parents reserved tickets must be purchased. Reserve seating tickets are $6.

The Mount Union Bookstore will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. for guests to check out a selection of new fall merchandise, including mom and dad sweatshirts and t-shirts. Bookstore coupons for 10 percent off any one item will be available upon check-in to all Mount Union Parents' and Family Day participants.
