United Methodist Student Movement is a fellowship group for United Methodist students on campus. The national organization meets yearly around the U.S. This group is currently inactive.
Additional Services
AA/Alcoholics Anonymous- An AA open discussion meeting takes place each Wednesday morning from 11:30am-12:30pm year round in room 104 of Dewald Chapel. This crucial twelve-step process is open to any who need support and encouragement as they face life's challenges. For other AA meetings in the area, information is available in the Chaplain's Office. Confidentiality is promised.
Weddings- Dewald Chapel is a popular place for weddings of alumni, faculty and staff members and other community members. A brochure is provided through the Office of the Chaplain or through the Manager of Campus Card & Facilities Scheduling, Robin Clough. Scheduling for weddings takes place through Mrs. Clough's office in Hoover Price Campus Center. For more information call (330) 823-2881.
Memorial Services- Services for alumni, trustees, faculty, staff and students take place in Dewald Chapel at the request of members of the campus community. Arrangements must be made with the Chaplain of the University. Alumni Weekend annually hosts a Service of Celebration and Remembrance for those who have died in the previous year and a memorial tree is planted in their names. The memorial book with those names is available for viewing upon request from the Office of the Chaplain.
The Fortune Meditation Room- The Mediation Room is located north of the Myers Sanctuary and is available for prayer seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day for students, staff and faculty. For security purposes, access is available through the Diebold card system. Identification cards from the Uniersity are issued through the Office of Campus Card & Facilities Scheduling. Occasionally, prayer vigils are hosted by various student organizations, but the space is available to any campus member as needed.
