Admission Representative / Multicultural Recruitment Coordinator
Position Reports to: Director of Admission
Fundamental Objectives of this Position:
The University of Mount Union, a private, liberal arts institution of 2,300 students, seeks candidates for a full-time position of Admission Representative/Multicultural Recruitment Coordinator (MRC).
Under the supervision of the Director of Admission, the Admission Representative/MRC at the University of Mount Union is responsible for attaining recruitment goals within his/her designated territories and target groups. This individual participates fully in all recruitment activities that lead to the achievement of the University’s enrollment goals. In addition, this individual coordinates the staff’s recruitment efforts, including communication, programs and events, which are directed to multicultural prospective students. The Admission Representative//MRC fosters enthusiasm among high school students seeking admission into the University of Mount Union.
This entry level position travels on a regular schedule around their assigned region. He/she is responsible for establishing, building, and managing both new and mature relationships between the University and high school counseling personnel within the assigned region as well as with community and access groups.
The Admission Representative/MRC is energetic, creative, forward thinking and goal-oriented, as well as detailed-oriented with a tolerance for ambiguity. The representative will have demonstrated strengths in the areas of planning, communication and follow-through. He/she demonstrates excellent judgment and understands that effectively representing the University is a constant priority.
Working in a highly confidential environment, the Admission Representative/MRC maintains a high standard of personal integrity, honesty and character. He/she is dedicated to advancing the University in a resource efficient manner and places significant priority on establishing and managing annual recruitment initiatives within stipulated budget guidelines.
The person in this position is expected to exercise judgment and to make decisions considered appropriate and necessary to provide the designated services, consulting with the Director of Admissionon a regular basis.
The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher, have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Preference will be given to candidates with a master’s degree, prior college admissions experience, and experience in recruiting multicultural students. A valid driver’s license is required.
