What makes Mount Union different from other colleges and universities is the environment. All of the professors care about how I am doing academically and personally.
Adolescence to Young Adult Education Careers
Adolescence is often a confusing time in the lives of our nation’s youth, and teachers can play a powerful role in guiding their students through the challenges of this period in their lives. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of our nation’s youth by teaching grades seven through 12, then pair your major field of study with a minor in adolescence to young adult education at Mount Union. Licensure areas include earth science, language arts, mathematics, social studies, life science and physical sciences.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that job opportunities in the education field will grow in the years to come. To meet this need, the Department of Education is geared toward preparing teacher candidates and assisting them in obtaining a teaching appointment. In addition, a major or minor in education provides an excellent foundation for careers in a number of areas, including:
- Child care centers
- Youth ministry
- Human services professions
- Corporate training
