Adolescence to Young Adult Education Careers
Adolescence is often a confusing time in the lives of our nation’s youth, and teachers can play a powerful role in guiding their students through the challenges of this period in their lives. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of our nation’s youth by teaching grades seven through twelve, then pair your major field of study with a minor in adolescence to young adult education at the University of Mount Union. Licensure areas include earth science, language arts, mathematics, social studies, life science and physical sciences.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that job opportunities in the education field will grow in the years to come. To meet this need, the Mount Union Department of Education's CAEP accredited Teacher Education Program is geared toward preparing teacher candidates and assisting them in obtaining a teaching appointment after graduation. In addition, a major or minor in education provides an excellent foundation for careers in a number of areas, including:
- Child care centers
- Youth ministry
- Human services professions
- Corporate training
