My favorite professor at Mount Union is Dr. Bob Ekey, assistant professor of physics and chair of the Department of Physics. He’s also my advisor, and I like the fact that I get to work with him every semester by helping him teach Introduction to Physics labs. Dr. Ekey also is on the pre-health professions committee and has given me a lot of advice as it pertains to preparing for the MCAT and applying to medical school.

MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY

Strong science programs
I chose to major in physics at Mount Union for a few reasons. Physics was indeed my strongest and favorite subject in high school, and Mount Union had strong science programs.

Favorite place
I would have to say that Bracy Hall is my favorite place on campus. Almost all of my classes and labs are held in Bracy and it’s where I spend most of my time studying. It is an exceptional facility for all the science programs offered at the University.

A clear night
If I had to pick one place on campus to take someone who was visiting, I would take him or her on a clear night to the Clarke Astronomical Observatory, which is located on the top of Bracy Hall. It’s a great view, and one time I even saw the moons orbiting Jupiter.

Challenging class
My favorite class so far has been Electromagnetic Theory because it was my first advanced physics course and also my most challenging class. I think that’s why it was my favorite … I always enjoy a good challenge.

Favorite professor
My favorite professor at Mount Union is Dr. Bob Ekey, assistant professor of physics and chair of the Department of Physics. Dream job
I really want to go to medical school and become a doctor. Last summer, I had the opportunity to work as a lab technician at my mother's clinic. The experience was invaluable and it truly confirmed my future career aspirations.
