Choosing Mount Union

I originally heard about Mount Union through my parents. My dad played football here for a year before transferring to Kent State. I also enjoyed the fact that Mount was a small college that was close to home. I chose to attend because it was the perfect distance from home and there is so much kindness in the close-knit community among the students, faculty, and alumni. I was thankful to receive the Trustee Scholarship from Mount to attend school here. I would tell people looking at universities to be mindful. Mount Union was my last college visit out of six visits to colleges. That was the one that immediately felt like home.

Home Away from Home

Everybody is kind to one another, and everybody feels like a family. The community is incredible, and everyone is beyond willing to help each other out with anything. We are all constantly bettering each other.

Why Finance?

I chose finance as my major because I took a money management class during my senior year of high school, and I immediately fell in love with the content. I still enjoy the topic to this day, and it does not feel like work at all. My goal is to go to graduate school and become a financial advisor in the future. Mount Union is preparing me because my professors and classmates challenge each other to be better. I think the Integrative Core has done a tremendous job for helping me develop basic skills for any job I chose after college. I am prepared for public speaking and equipped with better writing skills.
