The students definitely set Mount Union apart from other colleges and universities. It was something I noticed the first time I was on campus, how inherently nice everyone was by doing the littlest things

All Persons Trail

Trail

The 1/2 mile ALL PERSONS TRAIL boardwalk provides access to nature for people of all ages and abilities.

The boardwalk, made of recycled plastic from milk jugs, starts at the Visitors Center and loops 1/2 mile through the woods past the Huston Farm barn. An extension of the boardwalk goes to an observation deck overlooking the pond. All people can move easily along the boardwalk on foot or in strollers or wheel chairs and enjoy the scenery without concern of muddy areas or roots that are found on most hiking trails.

The All Persons Trail was built by volunteers over a period of three years. Individuals and groups of people from Mount Union, scout groups, and various service organizations including the Washington Township Ruritans put in many hours working with the building materials funded by grants from the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District to create this wonderful asset. The boardwalk trail is especially useful for people who would otherwise not be able to experience being in the woods.

A section of the boardwalk is named "Webster's Way" in honor of the late Dan Webster (2002), a volunteer and member of the Washington Township Ruritans, who spent many hours constructing and then enjoying the boardwalk.
