sixthgraders30 students from Alliance Middle School Students visited Mount Union College last week. 15 of the students are from Betsy Brown’s class and 15 from Karen Whitaker’s class.

They began their day with a tour of Bracy Hall and then enjoyed playing math games in Tolerton and Hood Hall. The students learned how to use Alice, a computer program, in the Kolenbrander-Harter Information Center.

“This program uses a drag and drop environment to create computer animations using 3D models,” said Dr. Ann Ritchey, associate professor of mathematics. “They made up a story and animated it.”

A campus tour was also involved in their visit.

“The kids really enjoyed talking with the college students,” said Ritchey. “They really liked working on the computer and did very well with it.”
