Alliance Symphony Orchestra Concert to be held April 19 at Alliance High School

The Alliance Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Rebecca Stinson, lecturer of music at Mount Union College, will present a concert of music based on an American theme on Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. in the Alliance High School Auditorium.
Featured works will include Dvorak’s New World Symphony, highlights from George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, Aaron Copland’s Variations on a Shaker Melody from “Appalachian Spring,” Morton Gould’s American Salute, Henry Mancini’s Moon River and a medley of movie scores by John Williams.
Since its founding in 1989, the Alliance Symphony Orchestra has provided orchestral music of many styles for the enjoyment and enrichment of the people of the Alliance area. The members of the symphony include adults as well as college and high school volunteers.
Admission is $10. Seniors are admitted for a discounted price of $8. Children or students with ID are admitted free. Arts in Stark and Alliance Concert Association members will receive a buy one get one free discount. The Auditorium is located at 400 Glamorgan Street.
