Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon take Greek Week Honors

Mount Union College held their annual Greek Week festivities November 3-7, naming Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Greek Week 2008 champions.

Members of the Greek community participated in events from community service, Greek Sing and a Greek Olympics event while being paired with a Greek organization of the opposite sex.

Monday evening kicked off the week with Up Till Dawn, a letter-writing campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital .This campaign is being organized by Kate Fortney, a junior communication studies major of Westlake.

On Tuesday, the Greek Olympics featured a relay race, tug-of-war and a corn-hole tournament.  Wednesday featured a canned food drive. Non-perishable food items were collected by storming the dorms and will be distributed to assist the Alliance community.

On Thursday, the Greek Sing was won by Alpha Xi Delta and Sigma Alpha Epsilon, who were also announced as overall winners of Greek Week 2008, and the All-Greek Mixer brought everyone together.

Greek Week Spirit award winners were Kate Fortney of Alpha Delta Pi and George Kiraly of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
