October 06, 2009
The Office of Career Development at Mount Union facilitated an alumni career transitions workshop in conjunction with the 2009 Alumni and Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Hoover-Price Campus Center.
Alumni from the graduating classes of 1987 through 2007 spent Saturday morning upgrading resumes, cover letters and references, as well as ‘retooling’ job search strategies.
“Most participants were still employed but anticipate being down sized or outsourced, several were presently laid off and one desired to change careers completely,” said Becky Doak, executive director of career services at Mount Union. “The office has conducted over 40 alumni appointments and numerous resume reviews since January of this year.”
