Amnesty and Safe Harbor Policies

The safety and welfare of students is a University priority, and at times, students may need immediate medical assistance. However, students may be reluctant to get help because of concerns that their own behavior may be a violation of Code of Student Conduct. To minimize any hesitation students or student organizations may have in obtaining help due to these concerns, the University has instituted an amnesty policy.  The full policy can be found in the Student Handbook on page 54.

Additionally, to encourage students to get assistance in regards to addiction problems, the University has instituted a Safe Harbor practice which also student who come forward with their own use, addiction, or dependency problem to be given assistance without fear of the conduct process going forward.
