Art Exhibit to Feature Recent Works by Joel Collins

The exhibit, which will be on display from January 9 through February 2 in the Crandall Art Gallery, will feature works by Joel Collins, professor of art and Dr. Robert T. and Phyllis S. White Chair in Art, ranging from photographic prints to charcoal drawings.
A native of Northfield, New Jersey, Collins earned a bachelor of arts degree from Alderson Broaddus College and a master of fine arts degree from West Virginia University. He has entered his works in national competitions and won numerous awards.
An artist's reception will also be held on Saturday, January 21 from 4-6 p.m. Students of Dr. Elaine Anderson, instructor of music, will provide chamber music for the reception. The music begins promptly at 4 p.m. with the gallery talk commencing at 4:30 p.m. This talk will be followed by a question and answer session. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend.
The Crandall Art Gallery is free and open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 6 p.m. The gallery is located on the corner of Union Avenue and Simpson Street in Alliance. For more information, please contact the Department of Art at (330) 823-3860.
