Associated Press Bureau Chief to Speak at Mount

Eva ParzialeEva Parziale, chief of bureau for The Ohio Associated Press (AP), will speak at the Continued Learning Program on Tuesday, October 18 at 10 a.m. in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center on the University of Mount Union’s campus.
Member of the AP staff since 1984, Parziale has served as chief of bureau since 1999. In addition to overseeing the AP’s operations in Ohio, she also holds responsibility for the corporate relationship with several key AP member groups.
Prior to joining the staff at the AP, she was a correspondent in Portland, Maine, news editor in Columbia, SC and assistant chief of bureau in Kansas City before being named bureau chief in Portland, Ore. She was also named director of the AP’s online photo archive and commercial picture sales operation in 1997.
Parziale earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University and Master of Arts degree in journalism at Columbia University.
On Tuesday, Parziale will be discussing what's new in the news industry, taking a closer look at how the media are adapting to the changing nature of news gathering and distribution in these challenging economic times.
Those attending are welcome to stay for lunch in the Kresge Dining Commons ($6.50) or B&B Café (a la carte) following the session.
The Continued Learning Program sessions, which are all free and open to the public, include a variety of presentations and current perspectives, as well as time for questions and discussion. An additional session has been scheduled for October 25.
