Athletic Training Major

Build skills in the prevention, diagnosis, immediate care and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries and illness for a rewarding and challenging career.

Athletic training graduates have found success working as athletic trainers for organizations including Syracuse University, University of West Virginia, Ohio University, University of Arkansas and Kent State University as well as public school districts and health care facilities across the country.  Others have gone on to pursue careers as chiropractors, physical therapists, occupational therapists and physician assistants.

Those pursuing graduate studies have attended institutions including University of Virginia, University of Washington Medical College of Ohio, Walsh University, Bellmont University and New York Chiropractic School, among others.

The athletic training major is administered by the Department of Human Performance and Sport Business, which also offers programs in exercise science, health, physical education, public health and sport business.
