Author Barbara A. Lyons Book Reading and Signing

ALLIANCE, OH—Join Mount Union administrative assistant and newly published author of fiction, Barbara A. Lyons, on Friday, May 5 as she reads from of her first novel, Out of the Depths: The Johnson Chronicles - Book One at 4 p.m. in the North Reading Room, Kolenbrander-Harter Information Center (KHIC). A book signing will follow and attendees are encouraged to visit the UMU bookstore to purchase a copy.

As an administrative assistant at the University of Mount Union, Barbara A. Lyons works within a diverse array of departments including English, History, Political Science and International Studies. She began working at the university 16 years ago, however her passion has always been in writing. After successfully publishing her first novel, Lyons has been instilled with the motivation and excitement to begin the next piece in her dramatic saga.

Written under the pseudonym “Antonia Harris”, Out of the Depths is the beginning of an intense series featuring hope, faith, and forgiveness. In this novel, Lettie Jonson’s husband comes home from the war in Afghanistan after being horrendously tortured. After his return, Lettie must cope with the side effects of her husband’s trauma. Suffering from PTSD, her husband’s violent outbursts may cause an end to their marriage. Ultimately, readers will discover if the love of Lettie’s family is enough to heal the broken couple.
