Betty Wehner Davis to Present Lenten Midweek Organ Recital

Betty Wehner Davis, organist at Vine Street United Methodist Church, will present a Lenten Midweek Organ Recital on Wednesday, March 13 at noon in Mount Union College's Dewald Chapel.
Davis will be performing a solo organ recital including the works of Bach.
Davis received her bachelor's degree in music and music education from Mount Union College. She received her master's degree at Ashland University in curriculum and instruction.
Davis has been the organist at Vine Street United Methodist Church since 1946. She is a retired choral director, having spent 25 years teaching in Marlington Local Schools. She is the president of the Alliance Community Concert Association and treasurer of Mu Phi Epsilon, Alliance alumni.
She is a member of Fellowship of United Methodists in Music, Worship and Arts, American Guild of Oganists, Ohio Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, American Choral Directors Association, Delta Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Alliance Area Retired Teachers Association. She and her husband, William, have four grown children and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The Lenten Midweek Recitals are free and open to the public. Upcoming recitals
include March 20 with Bruce Snyder, organist and director of music at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and March 27 with Phillip Gehm, organist and director of music at Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
The Dewald Chapel is located on the Mount Union College campus across from the football stadium on Aultman Avenue.
