Finance and management major

After transferring, my social, academic, and athletic life did a complete 180 for the better. This campus feels like a second home because of the people and small college atmosphere. I feel valued and connected at Mount Union.

Transferring to Mount Union

I was playing video games during quarantine and met the former captain of the Esports team online. He got me connected with people on campus and it was a great fit! I was able to receive the Transfer Scholarship and Esports Scholarship. I transferred to Mount Union because I wanted to feel like I matter, and my education mattered. After unpleasant experiences at my last university, I wanted a change. After transferring, my social, academic, and athletic life did a complete 180 for the better. This campus feels like a second home because of the people and small college atmosphere. I feel valued and connected at Mount Union.

Being in the Classroom

I chose to double major in both finance and management because I knew I would be getting my money’s worth and would be getting that second major for a great deal. A lot of my classes from both majors cross over with each other! I feel that I am going to benefit from Integrative Core because it is going to allow me to get to my major specific courses done faster. Also, I will be practicing these speaking in writing skills in all my classes that will help me in my transition to the real world. I’ve had the opportunity to get taught by people who have gone out and been successful. I would rather come to class and get lectured by someone who with real experience in the business world than someone who primarily teaches. At Mount Union we have so many professors who are insanely successful and I enjoy learning from them and building connections.

Career Goals

I want to have a job where my work is meaningful. I want purpose behind what I do, and I can stay motivated and hungry. Mount Union will give me the tools and connections to be successful in this transition.
