Message from the Chair of Biology
Are you curious about how life works? If so, make the Department of Biology a part of your undergraduate training. The biology faculty are professionally trained in various specialty areas that are represented in our coursework, giving students an opportunity to develop an appreciation for their biological relationship to the living world. Whether you are training for a future career that involves biological sciences or just want to take a few classes in biology, our department is dedicated to your learning.
Both the biology and medical laboratory science majors are housed in the Department of Biology. These majors have student-centered learning opportunities for you to develop your skills as you work toward a future career. The department supports independent student research projects and various field trips for you to engage in your learning in unique ways. These majors will also challenge you to think critically and develop problem-solving skills which are critical in today’s job market.
As you explore these majors on our website, please contact me if questions arise. We would also like to invite you to see our teaching and research facilities and meet our faculty. Schedule a campus visit today to learn more!
