During Commencement, it is so exciting to be reminded of how much students have developed during their time at the University.

Hands-On Learning

Students who choose to major in biology at the University Mount Union will have endless opportunities to get “real-world” experience outside of the classroom. By getting involved in extracurricular opportunities and field experiences, you can strengthen your skills and knowledge in biology, both of which are critical to career success.

Experiential learning opportunities will give you many chances to put classroom knowledge to work. These hands-on learning opportunities include:

  • Independent research
  • Research with faculty or student peers
  • Laboratory experience
  • Internships
  • Field trips to Ball Research Forest, coastal marine locations, local zoos and museums, Lake Erie and Costa Rica
  • Exclusive access to Mount Union’s Nature Center
