I chose to major in nursing because it is a hands-on major that requires lifelong learning. Plus, the opportunity to make a huge impact in someone's life is exciting and meaningful.

MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY

Choosing Mount Union
I chose to attend Mount Union because I liked the size of campus, the small class sizes and the one-on-one attention students receive from faculty members. I also like how the school does so much to give back to the community.

Balance of Academics and Athletics
Mount Union does a great job balancing academic and athletic success. The athletic teams succeed and continue to get better, but as student athletes we also realize that getting an education is very important.

Nursing
I chose to major in nursing because it is a hands-on major that requires lifelong learning. Plus, the opportunity to make a huge impact in someone's life is exciting and meaningful.

My Campus Getaway
My favorite place on the Mount Union’s campus is the wrestling room in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex because it is my getaway from academics.

Favorite Professors
Timothy Beitzel, assistant professor of nursing, is one of my favorite professors. He not only has a lot of nursing experience that he brings into the classroom, he also is a great mentor. His ability to make class fun definitely keeps me engaged and my spirits up. I also really like Dr. Christopher Marks, assistant professor of biology. He’s a funny guy, which helps make anatomy fun.

Anatomy Lab
I really enjoy anatomy lab. It is nice to learn things in lecture, but lab allows me to put classroom knowledge and concepts into real life practice.

Impactful Profession
I want to go as far as I can with my education and be viewed as a leader in my profession. I also want to positively impact as many people as possible along the way.
