MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY
Basketball, a Team Sport
I chose the University of Mount Union because I wanted to play basketball and through the recruiting experience with the team, I knew it was a place I wanted to come and play. The team and I had great chemistry and I felt this was the right choice for me.
The McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (MAAC) is one of my favorite places on campus. It’s very convenient to have class then go straight to working out all in the same building.
I decided to major in exercise science this major because I love to be around athletes and learning about different ways to stay healthy and fit. Mount Union’s program offered me the chance to have the hands-on experience and the helpful professors.
Dr. Katherine Clark, assistant professor, human performance and sport business, is my favorite teacher. She has helped me throughout my years here at Mount Union by helping me get through some of my tough classes. She is that person I can talk to about anything. Dr. Clark continues to help me now with my decisions about graduate school and job selections. She has truly played a big role in my life and helped me become the person I am today.
Using my Mount Union degree
My ultimate goal would be to have my own gym or training program where I can help people from children to adults. I would like to be able to train them and give them nutrition advice to help make them into a better and healthier person.
I love that Mount Union shows real concern for its students. The fact that I can go and talk to one of my professors if I need help in class or just to say hi is something I love. I also like the small college atmosphere because I’ve became so close with my friends that we’re pretty much like family now.
