Why Mount Union
I ultimately chose Mount because I wanted to further my volleyball career at a collegiate level, but, because of the beautiful, modern campus and the people were all so welcoming it made my decision so much easier. It just felt like home as soon as I stepped on campus.

The Mount Union Difference
There are so many things that I love about Mount Union, but if I had to pick one it would be the people here. From my friends to my professors, everyone wants to see you be successful. That may sound cliché but it really is the truth. Going to a smaller school your professors get to know you and they know how you’re doing in their class. I went to a larger high school so getting a more personalized education is one of the best things about Mount Union and it really ensures that students have a successful future.

A Caring Team
I didn’t know anyone at Mount before deciding to come here so, having a team that you are around all the time in the first three months was very helpful in making friends. Having older teammates and friends was great because they taught me everything I needed to know to adapt to a college lifestyle. Also, the professors are all very approachable so when I needed something they were always available.

Advice to Perspective Students
I would tell prospective students to do something that you would not normally do. Go visit a school that you wouldn’t think you’ll end up going to. That is what I did and ended up calling it home.

Exceptional Opportunities
I am currently the Tour Coordinator for the Student Ambassador Program. I manage the scheduling for the student ambassadors for their different shifts and secure them for different special events. I will be interning this summer (2017) at Sherwin Williams for their College Program and I found out about this internship at Mount’s job fair. My favorite experience so far though has to be when I traveled to Costa Rica for an International Volleyball Tour with girls across the nation. I wouldn’t have been offered this without Mount Union and I got to travel with two of my teammates. It was a life changing trip where we got to work with young kids and play against Costa Rican national teams and travel around Costa Rica.

A Liberal Arts Education
When receiving your education at a liberal arts university, you further your knowledge on topics outside of your field of study which will help you broaden your awareness on topics that could ultimately benefit you in the long run. It also helps you improve your writing, reading and communication skills.

Future Pharmaceutical Sales Representative or a Hospital Administrator
I strive to be either a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative or a Hospital Administrator. With Mount Union being a smaller institution, you receive a more personalized education so you receive more experience in the classroom. In almost all of my marketing classes, we have worked with real companies and come up with marketing plans for them so having that experience will definitely benefit my future career.
