Brother Alex Smith Gospel
Showtime: Every Sunday, 9-11 a.m.
The Host: Brother Duke Grimes and Sister Susan Mastroianni
The Brother Alex Smith Gospel Show is dedicated to the late and great, Alex Smith.
Alex would always say he was "too blessed to be stressed." Smith's lifetime goal was to give back to others as God had blessed him. Alex passed away in December of 2016. Since then, Brother Duke and Sister Susan have continued the show in his name.
Before his passing, Alex had served as the host of the Evelyn Brown Spiritual since 2000. For more than 20 years he had worked with Evelyn Borwn promoting gospel music and introducing gospel to the Alliance area. Since the inception of the Evelyn Brown Spiritual in 1969, the show has grown to a national audience.
Smith, was a member at Second Baptist Church in Alliance, had been involved with the Baptist Church for over 40 years, including being the church's soundman, custodian and a trustee. He was married to Helen and father to 12 children.
In memory of Alex, the show will continue.
In Alex's words, "I love the Lord and enjoy doing his work," said Smith. "Our radio show has touched so many people and I really enjoy doing it. It is a gift you take to the people and can minister to anyone around the country." Alex is certainly missed but his spirit is still with us in the studio every Sunday morning.
