Bruce Snyder to Present Lenten Midweek Organ Recital

Bruce Snyder, music director for St. Joseph Catholic Church, will present a Lenten Midweek Organ Recital on Wednesday, March 20 at noon in Mount Union College's Dewald Chapel.


Snyder earned a bachelor's degree from Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music, where he majored in organ.

Snyder has held various organist/organist director positions in the area. He is the past dean of the Youngstown Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. For several years, he was the chair of the scholarship committee of The Salem Music Study Club.

Snyder is retired from A.R. Schopp's Sons, Inc. He also owned and operated his own pipe organ maintenance business. He resides in Alliance with his wife, Marlene. They have two grown sons.

There will be another Lenten Midweek Organ Recital on March 27 with Phillip Gehm, organist and director of music at Union Avenue United Methodist Church.

The Dewald Chapel is located on the Mount Union College campus across from the football stadium on Aultman Avenue.
