ALLIANCE, Ohio — To kick off the month of October, the University of Mount Union’s Department of Music will present Misook Yun, Alice Wang and Sophia van der Westhuizen in a guest artist recital at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 7 in Presser Recital Hall.

The 32nd annual Dewald Honors Dinner and Program was held on Tuesday, September 18 to recognize high academic achievement among University of Mount Union students during the 2011-2012 Academic Year.

Washington Monthly has ranked the University of Mount Union among the top 100 baccalaureate colleges and universities in the nation in its 2012 rankings. Mount Union is ranked 60th among the 352 institutions that Washington Monthly included in the category.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — For the 21^st consecutive year, the University of Mount Union has been favorably ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of America’s Best Colleges. This year, Mount Union was ranked among the top dozen regional colleges in the Midwest, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Caroline Lawrence, author of the Roman Mysteries series, will present the Slater Lecture at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 in Presser Recital Hall on the University of Mount Union’s campus. Lawrence will present “The Historical Detective.”

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Dr. Scott Mason, professor of chemistry and director of the pre-health program at the University of Mount Union, will be the featured LINC luncheon speaker at noon on Tuesday, September 25 in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center on Mount Union’s campus.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union’s Department of Theatre will present “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani from October 4-7 at Rodman Playhouse. Show times are 8 p.m. October 4-6 and 2 p.m. October 7.

ALLIANCE, Ohio — A Joint Junior Recital featuring students from the University of Mount Union will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 in Presser Recital Hall.
