  3. Grant William Cook III
    Cook Named Director of Choral Activities at Mount
    March 30, 2011 - by Callie Livengood

    Grant William Cook III has been named director of choral activities at the University of Mount Union. Cook comes to Mount Union from Heidelberg University, where he most recently served as director of the Heidelberg concert choir and chamber singers, oversaw the choral program and served as a tenured associate professor of choral music and music history.

    Dr. David Mungo will be the featured speaker during the Continued Learning Program session at the University of Mount Union on Wednesday, April 6 at 11 a.m. in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Mungo will present “Ohio in the Civil War, Cavalryman’s Perspective.”

  6. Mount Union Collaborates with Area Institutions

    The Ralph and Mary Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement at the University of Mount Union, The Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at The University of Akron and the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University have joined together in a public/private collaboration to address the state’s most pressing political issues.

  8. March Makeover Transforms Empowerment Center
    March 28, 2011 - by Callie Livengood

    This past Saturday, more than 250 volunteers from the University of Mount Union offered their time and talents to help transform the Empowerment Center, located at 715 S. Arch Ave. in Alliance. Volunteers participated in “March Makeover 2011: Alliance Edition” by working on renovation projects such as painting, cleaning, building cabinets and landscaping.

  12. Japanese Students to Visit Mount Union
    March 26, 2011

    A group of students from Hiroshima Jogakuin High School, a school that has a longstanding relationship with the University of Mount Union, will travel to Mount Union this month to learn more about American culture. Students will be on campus from Tuesday, March 29 through Tuesday, April 5.

  14. Poverty Simulation to be Held April 14
    March 25, 2011

    Individuals will have the opportunity to experience what it is like living in poverty on Thursday, April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Alliance Middle School. TANF Town, a poverty simulation, will allow people to role-play as members of low-income families.

  16. Women’s History Month Keynote Address Cancelled
    March 23, 2011

    The Women’s History Month keynote address by Susan Douglas, scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre, has been cancelled. Douglas is unable to get to Alliance due to weather-related flight cancellations. Every effort will be made to reschedule the event.
