Zachary D. Barker, a 2009 graduate of Mount Union College, has a great start on his journey to future success, and he doesn’t even need GPS to direct him there.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will host “Letterboxing with Mary Hultman and Amy Watt” on Saturday, May 23 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will hold “Good Bugs, Bad Bugs” on Wednesday, May, 20 at 7 p.m.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will be holding a Barnyard Bonanza on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mount Union College has added a new major in financial mathematics to its curriculum. Classes will begin with the fall semester of 2009.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will be holding a Migratory Bird Day Walk on Sunday, May 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Eighth grade students from Alliance and Canton middle schools attended a College Visitation day at Mount Union College on Tuesday, May 12. This day was sponsored by Council Attracting Prospective Educators (CAPE) and Mount Union College. Dr. Thomas Gannon, professor of education at the College coordinated the event.

The liberal arts and accounting education that Sidra Gulzar received at Mount Union College has instilled in her the values of hard work and determination. In just three short years she earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and now plans to further her education by pursuing a master’s degree in accounting.

Telling the 358 Mount Union College graduates that they will change the world – it’s just a matter of how, James W. Griffith, president and chief executive officer of The Timken Company delivered the College’s Commencement address Saturday at the 163rd Commencement Ceremony.

James W. Griffith, president and chief executive officer of The Timken Company of Canton, OH and member of the Mount Union College Board of Trustees since 2004, was presented with the honorary degree of doctor of humane letters at the 163rd Commencement Ceremony at Mount Union College on Saturday, May 9.

The 163rd Mount Union College Baccalaureate Ceremony was held Friday, May 8 in the Mount Union Theatre.

Mount Union College’s first-ever Move-Out Day Benefit Sale and Recycling Project was held May 6-7, 2009 in Wilson Hall. As a result, $2,345.10 in cash, 500 canned food items, 200 pairs of shoes, 3,000 clothing items, 50 pieces of furniture and boxes of school supplies and toiletries were donated to benefit area United Way agencies.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will be holding a Mother’s Day Walk with a Naturalist on Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m.

Mount Union College is preparing for its 163rd Commencement Ceremony, to be held Saturday, May 9 on the south lawn of Chapman Hall.
