"Hugs for Haiti," a fundraising effort established by the Fellowship for Christian Athletes and other Mount Union student organizations, has raised $11,185 to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.

The Kursk art exhibit and online auction, “Russian Landscapes #2,” that features work by artists from Kursk, Russia, will be on display from February 3 through March 4 in the Crandall Art Gallery at Mount Union College.

Author and journalist David Giffels presented the Eckler Lecture at Mount Union College on Wednesday, January 27 in Presser Recital Hall.

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) and Student Senate will host PhiredUp on February 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre. This event teaches all student organization members a number of dynamic ways to meet other students and how to recruit and retain members in their organizations.

The Mount Union College Department of Music will present guest pianist Caroline Oltmanns on Sunday, January 31 in Presser Recital Hall at 3 p.m.

The Mount Union College Continued Learning Committee is offering free Continued Learning Program sessions for adults every Tuesday in February at 10 a.m. in the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

Over 30 Mount Union College students were recently selected as Preview and Orientation guides for the summer of 2010.

"Hugs for Haiti," a fundraising effort established by the Fellowship for Christian Athletes and other Mount Union student organizations, raised $8,500 this weekend to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.

After reviewing research gathered through efforts with numerous constituents and processing the pros and cons of the various options, the Mount Union College Board of Trustees unanimously resolved today that the name of the institution be University of Mount Union, effective August 1, 2010.

The Mount Union College community has established a fund-raising effort, “Hugs for Haiti,” to help the earthquake victims in Haiti. The project is being co-sponsored by radio stations WDJQ Q92 FM and AM 1310 WDPN.

A close listening to the Christmas song “Do You Hear What I Hear?” helped Dr. James Perone, professor of music at Mount Union College, prepare for his lecture given at the LINC Luncheon in the Hoover-Price Campus Center on January 19.

Dr. Stanley Hauerwas, the Gilbert T. Rowe Professor of Theological Ethics at the Divinity School of Duke University, will present the Carr Lecture on Wednesday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

On Monday during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day brunch, the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership and Diversity Awards were presented to those who exemplify the character and life of Dr. King.

Members of the Mount Union College community participated in a variety of events in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

This fall, the Office of Service-Learning and Community Service kicked off a new service program entitled “Super Service Saturdays.”
