More than 300 Mount Union College students were anxiously awaiting for the clock to strike midnight to find out how much money they had collectively raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will be hosting a Folk Jam on Sunday, March 7 at 2 p.m.

The Department of Music at Mount Union has scheduled a wide variety of music events in the month of March.

Mount Union will celebrate Women’s History Month in March with speakers and events that will recognize the progress of women’s achievements and help raise awareness about of the rights of women.

The Kursk Art Exhibit and Online Auction, “Russian Landscapes #2,” that features work by artists from Kursk, Russia, will be on display through March 4 in the Crandall Art Gallery at Mount Union College. A closing reception will be held on Thursday, March 4 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the gallery.

More than 130 people from Mount Union, the Alliance community, area colleges and student’s families, attended the annual Black Student Union Fashion Show on Saturday, February 20.

Mount Union College students are currently preparing for the Up 'til Dawn finale event that will take place February 26, from 8p.m. to midnight in the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

The Annual Soul Food Dinner, sponsored by the Black Student Union at Mount Union, will be held on Sunday, February 28 at 6 p.m. in the Kresge Dining Commons of the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

Mount Union received four Pay it Forward philanthropy mini-grants totaling $18,500 for the spring and fall semester of 2010, which will be used to provide opportunities for students to learn about philanthropy in various courses and engage with the local community by helping address some of Alliance’s biggest needs.

Mount Union College will host its next Continued Learning Program Session featuring James Ballor on Tuesday, February 23 at 10 a.m. in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

Dr. Beth-Canfield Simbro, assistant professor of human performance and sport business and co-director of the honors program at Mount Union presented “What Are Those Crazy Kids Up To” on Tuesday at the LINC Luncheon.

The Mount Union College Repertory Strings will present a concert on Tuesday, February 23 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The annual Black Student Union Fashion Show, co-sponsored by the Black Student Union and the Raider Programming Board, will be held on Saturday, February 20 at 7 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre.

Five-time Grammy nominated pianist, composer, arranger and producer David Benoit will be perform a guest smooth jazz concert along with bassist David Hughes and drummer Jamey Tate on Thursday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre. The concert is presented by WRMU 91.1 FM, Mount Union’s radio station, which airs Benoit’s music along with other smooth jazz artists.

Sandy Womack, a 1992 graduate of Mount Union, offered words of wisdom to a group of multicultural students on Thursday evening at Mount Union in honor of Black History Month.
