While taking Elementary Chinese, I had the opportunity to practice traditional Chinese calligraphy. This was my absolute favorite part of class because it shows that there is not only a difference in the way words are written (characters versus letters), but also a difference in the method of how the language is written. Calligraphy is a traditional part of Chinese history and culture, and being able to practice it myself made me respect that aspect of the Chinese culture even more. It is no easy feat to write using a calligraphy brush!

Welcome to the Mount Union Campus Security website. Our staff is dedicated to serving the campus community and I hope you will utilize Campus Security as a resource when you need assistance.
Campus Security is responsible for providing a variety of services to the campus community including: safety escort service, crime prevention information, fire safety, medical transportation, emergency response, vehicle assistance, lockout assistance, traffic control and parking enforcement.
We take great pride in helping to provide a safe and beautiful campus environment. The Campus Security Department is committed to established practices and policies that are in direct accordance with the Mount Union Mission Statement. As such, we strive to provide: “A safe and secure community that fosters a feeling of personal security and protects individual and college property.”
Community safety requires a concerted team effort. Our staff needs the on-going feedback and collaboration of all campus members and departments in order to be optimally effective. I hope that you will contact us whenever you see concerning or questionable behaviors or activities on campus—it is always better to be safe rather than sorry! We maintain close affiliation with local emergency service providers (police, fire, ambulance) to ensure prompt response when outside assistance is needed. Additionally, we welcome your feedback or suggestions for ways that we might better serve the campus community at Mount Union.
Mount Union Campus Security looks forward to serving you and meeting your safety needs. We’re glad to have you on campus and hope that your experiences here are pleasant and enjoyable—best wishes!
