A liberal arts education is preparing me to be well rounded, and I believe that will be a great attribute when looking for a job.

Rachel Boyce Lang International Choir Tour 2015

In May 2015, the Concert Choir will embark on a 10-day concert tour of Austria, with performances in and around Vienna, Linz, Salzburg and Innsbruck. Together we will walk through music history, visiting Mozart’s birth house; Anton Bruckner’s final resting place at the Abbey of St. Florian; the picturesque town of Steinbach am Attersee, where Gustav Mahler composed his epic Symphony No. 2 (“Resurrection”); and Beethoven’s 1802 residence in the Heiligenstadt district of Vienna.

As you might suspect, a tour of this size and scope is an expensive undertaking.  The total cost of the trip is approximately $4,000 per student, which covers airfare, ground transportation, housing and two meals per day. The students are expected to pay roughly one-third of this fee, purchase one meal per day, secure a U.S. passport and provide for personal spending money while abroad.  This experience will be an additional expense for our students, who are already financially invested in their educations at Mount Union.  Please consider sponsoring a member of the Choir and providing for this “once-in-a-lifetime” experience.

Thank you for your continued support of the University of Mount Union and its rich choral heritage, and we look forward to representing Mount Union abroad as we perform in some of the most important musical centers of Europe!
