Part-Time Choral Director of the Inspirational Voices of Praise

Education: B.A. or B.M.E. preferred with experience in both contemporary and traditional gospel African-American music and international gospel/sacred music optional (a transcript required upon hiring if applicable.)

Experience: Expertise in choral direction

Expectations include the following: Must be willing to direct all weekly rehearsals at the stipulated times, be open and welcoming to a diverse choral membership, give a minimum of two (2) on campus concerts annually as well as other concerts representing the University of Mount Union to area churches and community at large, recruit new membership, lead sectional rehearsals as needed, hold limited auditions, and keep regular office hours. Keyboard skills are helpful, but not required.

Descriptive Information: The University of Mount Union, www.mountunion.edu, (formerly Mount Union College) founded in 1846, is an accredited residential coeducational liberal arts university with 126 full-time faculty members and more than 2150 students including minority and international students. Eighty-three percent of the faculty hold terminal degrees. Relationships between the faculty and students are close and constructive.
