April 2, 2013

ALLIANCE, Ohio— The Honorable Charles E. Brown Jr., judge of the general division of the Stark County Common Pleas Court, will be the speaker at the upcoming CLP session at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9 at the University of Mount Union.

Brown will discuss Stark County’s re-entry program, a program dedicated to aiding men and women who have been released from prison as they find jobs and housing.

During his time in the Marine Corps, Brown spent one year as Chief Trial Counsel for the 1st Marine Division in Dla Nang, during which he prosecuted criminal cases at every level. Following an honorable discharge, Brown began to practice law in Alliance, eventually becoming an acting judge in the Alliance Municipal Court from 1999-2001. He has served as a judge in the Stark County Common Pleas Court since 2001.

Brown served as a member of the Ohio Rail Development Commission and as Special Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General from 1995-2001. He was also a member of the Stark County Board of Elections from 1980 to 1999.
