CLP Session to Feature Paul Dykshoorn

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Paul Dykshoorn, Outreach Pastor at the Alliance Christian Center and director of Men’s Challenge of Alliance, will be the speaker at the CLP session at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center at the University of Mount Union.
Dykshoorn will discuss Men’s Challenge, a Christ-based non-profit organization that he helped to form. The organization focuses on dealing with the root causes of poverty by working with men seeking employment to overcome the barriers with which they have been faced. Men’s Challenge provides information on how to find a job, coaches to keep members on track and workshops to provide work-related skills necessary for employment.
Dykshoorn has been the Outreach Pastor at the Alliance Christian Center since January of 2012. He moved to Alliance in 1984 to become a research engineer for Babcock and Wilcox Alliance Research Center. He later took an instructor position with Stark State College in the Mechanical and Design Engineering Technology department. In 1999, Dykshoorn became the senior pastor at the Alliance Christian Center. He has been married for 25 years to his wife, Kathy, and together they have three children.
The next CLP session will feature Ralph Pfingsten who will speak on the Ravenna Arsenal on October 22. The public is welcome to stay for lunch in the Kresge Dining Commons ($6.60) or B&B Café (a la carte) following the sessions.
