CLP Session to Feature Saimi Bergmann

February 13, 2013

ALLIANCE, Ohio — Saimi Bergmann, reporter at the Canton Repository, will be the speaker at the upcoming CLP session at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19 at the University of Mount Union.

Bergmann will discuss “Why I Ran Away From Home,” during which she will talk about accepting and welcoming change. Bergmann will discuss how she stepped outside her comfort zone to experience change by traveling to South Korea to teach English to school children.

Bergmann has worked at the Canton Repository for 20 years. She is best known for 12 years as a food writer and restaurant reviewer. Bergmann took a hiatus to teach in South Korea and then returned to the Repository as the consumer reporter. She is now an education writer, covering higher education. Bergman also writes food stories for About Magazine. She is married to Mark, who manages WRMU and teaches in the Mount Union communication department. The couple has two children and one grandchild.

The next CLP session will feature Alliance Police Chief Scott Griffith on how the department uses social media on February 26.

All are welcome to stay for lunch in the Kresge Dining Commons ($6.60) or B&B Café (a la carte) following the sessions.
