COKIE AND STEVEN ROBERTS TO PRESENT UPCOMING SCHOOLER LECTURE

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Tickets are still available for Mount Union College's annual Schooler Lecture featuring media analysts Cokie and Steven Roberts. The lecture will be held Monday, April 9 at 8 p.m. in the Timken Physical Education Building.
As one of the most visible journalists in America today, Cokie Roberts is co-anchor of the ABC news program This Week with Sam Donaldson & Cokie Roberts and serves as ABC's chief congressional analyst.
In addition to her work for ABC News, she also serves as a news analyst for National Public Radio, where she was a congressional correspondent for more than 10 years.
Steven Roberts is a well-known commentator on radio and television, regularly appearing on CNN's Late Edition, PBS' Washington Week in Review, and the ABC Radio Network. He also hosts his own show, The Roberts Report, carried worldwide by Voice of America.
Since 1997, he has served as Shapiro Professor of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University, where he has taught for the last nine years.
Together, the Robertses write a syndicated newspaper column anchored in the New York Daily News and are contributing writers for USA Weekend, a Sunday magazine that appears in 500 newspapers nationwide.
In February of 2000 they published From This Day Forward, an account of their 33-year marriage, as well as other marriages in American history. It immediately hit the top 10 on the New York Times best-seller list.
The Schooler Lecture Series was established at Mount Union College in 1988 to bring major speakers to campus. The lecture series is the result of a gift to the College by the Schooler Foundation, provided by Mr. and Mrs. Seward Schooler of Coshocton, Ohio.
Past Schooler lecturers have included former U.S. President Gerald R. Ford, the late astronomer Carl Sagan, former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, former U.N. Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick, news magazine host Hugh Downs, news commentator David Brinkley, former hostage Terry Anderson, Schindler's List author Thomas Keneally and holocaust survivor Leopold Page, Supreme Court Justice Alan Page, Apollo 13 Commander James Lovell, Rabbi Laureate Harold Kushner, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, environmental conservationist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., author Robert Fulghum, educator Joe Clark, former president of Poland Lech Walesa, Mount Everest explorer Dr. Beck Weathers and former New York Governor Mario Cuomo.
