Committees

The following are the current Student Senate standing committees. Email studentsenate@mountunion.edu to contact the Student Senate.

  • Campus Life
    The Campus Life Committee is responsible for listening to any complaints, concerns, and suggestions from the student body that deal with issues of student life on the campus of Mount Union. These issues include, but are not limited to, food service, residence halls and housing, parking, campus facilities, etc.
  • Academic Life
    The Academic Life Committee is responsible for listening to any complaints, concerns, and suggestions from the student body that deal with issues of academics. These concerns can include issues with individual academic programs, suggestions for new academic programs and courses, broad academic requirements (SCE, LS100), etc.
  • Special Events
    The Special Events Committee plans events for Senate, as well as Senate sponsored events for the whole campus. The Special Events Committee is also responsible for planning the Student Senate Philanthropy, a project in which Senate reaches out and does something good for the community.
  • Appropriations
    The Appropriations Committee is responsible for allocating Senate's budget to individual organizations at the beginning of the school year, as well as hearing any fund requests that occur during the year.
  • Public Relations (PR) Committee
    The PR Committee keeps the Senate and Student Body informed of Senate activities, and maintains the Senate Bulletin Board and website.
  • Constitution
    The Constitution Committee is responsible for knowing and reviewing the Constitution and Standing Rules, as well as suggesting any changes or amendments that may be necessary to the full body.
