Computer and Network Security Careers
Technology has become integral to our modern lives. The Internet, email, e-commerce and social networking have only intensified the need for skilled individuals who can develop and maintain the networks and systems required for the efficient transmission of information and secure the data that is shared in the process.
Our minor in computer and network security provides an introduction to the functioning of computer networks and their security, offering a solid background for anyone who expects to extensively use computers in their lives. It is also a worthy supplement to nearly any major program of study, and provides excellent preparation for a career in the growing field of technology. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that overall employment of computer network, systems and database administrators is projected to increase by 30 percent throughout the course of the next decade, much faster than the average for all occupations.
