MY EXCEPTIONIAL STORY
At a young age
I’ve always known of Mount Union since I was a little kid. When I was younger, my sister and mother would come to campus once a week to receive harp lessons at Cope Music Hall and I was always tagging along.
I came to Mount Union for college because of the distance it is from home. It’s far enough away but at the same time its close enough that I can go home for an evening. I also like the student to faculty ratio. It is nice to know that professors will go the extra mile to help you out.
I chose to major in business administration because I thought it would bring a wide range of job opportunities to the forefront once I graduated.
My favorite hands-on learning experience has been working at Union Hospital in Dover, OH. I have had the opportunity to hear other opinions and viewpoints on healthcare as well as meet many respected individuals.
I have recently applied to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science because my ultimate career goal is to become a mortician. I also want to be a funeral director and care for families who are grieving. I want to be that funeral director who makes everything stress free and absolutely perfect for every family that walks through the door.
Sandra Ekstrand (associate professor of economics, accounting and business administration) is honestly the best teacher I’ve had at Mount Union. She is such an amazing professor and has such a great personality. She thrives on helping and teaching her students.
