Debunkify Mobile Tour to Come to Mount Union College

April 05, 2010

The Debunkify Mobile Tour, a new campaign launched by STAND and the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation (OTPF) to 'debunk' myths surrounding tobacco, will be coming to Mount Union College on Saturday, March 24 from noon to 3 p.m. in the Hoover-Price Campus Center parking lot.

The Debunkify retro van and road crew will travel to more than 50 cities and college campuses in Ohio through July 2007 to help disprove common myths Ohio's youth and young adults hold about tobacco use.

The van will help debunk social smoking myths through SmokeScreen, a series of simple tests to asses a person's risk for addiction. Visitors to the van also will receive standTunz cards, which grant access to download free music from of popular up-and-coming independent artists in Ohio, all of whom are tobacco-free.

The van also includes a Playstation and a confessional booth where students can share their thoughts and opinions on tobacco-related topics.

The Debunkify campaign does not pressure people to quit, but just lets people know some of the facts about tobacco.
