Department of Theatre to Present ‘Almost, Maine’

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union’s Department of Theatre will present “Almost, Maine” by John Cariani from October 4-7 at Rodman Playhouse. Show times are 8 p.m. October 4-6 and 2 p.m. October 7.
“Almost, Maine,” a romantic comedy, takes place in a remote, mythical town called Almost, Maine during winter. The production showcases how the residents experience broken hearts and unexpected love on a cold, starry night. According to almostmaine.com, the play “inventively explores the mysteries of the human heart, touching audiences with laughter, heartbreak and hope.”
Under the direction of Rudy Roggenkamp Jr., associate professor of theatre, the cast and crew includes Savanna Lancaster, a freshman English major of Beloit; Megan Ostrofsky, a freshman of North Canton; Tyler Portner, a freshman of Ashland; and Alex Wolfe, a junior mathematics major of Atwater. The production team includes Roggenkamp, Deborah Lotsof, professor of theatre; Kelsey Tomlinson, a senior communication major of Cuyahoga Falls; Ty Gamble, a sophomore Japanese major of Baltimore, MD; and Alyssa Suffron, a freshman of Cuyahoga Falls.
The Rodman Playhouse is located on the corner of Simpson Street and Union Avenue on Mount Union’s campus. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $7 for senior citizens. The Department of Theatre’s next production is “The Servant of Two Masters” by Carlo Goldoni and translated and adapted by Tom Cone from November 15-18 at Rodman Playhouse.
