Department of Theatre to Present “Rumors” February 19-20, 25-27
February 12, 2010
The Mount Union College Department of Theatre will present “Rumors” by Neil Simon on February 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. in the Rodman Playhouse.
The comedy “Rumors” centers around four couples attending the Deputy Mayor of New York and his wife’s tenth wedding anniversary. At a large townhouse, the Deputy Mayor has just shot himself. While he lies bleeding in the other room, his wife is nowhere in sight. The first couple to arrive, both lawyers, find no servants, uncooked food, an indisposed host and a missing hostess. They must get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions and miss-communications mount, the evening spins off into classic farcical hilarity.
Under the direction of Dr. Doug Hendel, professor of theatre, the cast includes Kelly MacLean, a sophomore from Wellsville, OH as Chris; Tyler Mason, a sophomore from North Canton, OH as Ken; Alisa Andrews, a sophomore from North Canton, OH as Claire; Kenny Leep, a freshman from Stow, OH as Lenny; Jon Baley, a junior from Akron, OH as Ernie; Sarah Hayes, a junior from Macedonia, OH as Cookie; Marciano Bagnoli, a freshman from Louisville, OH as Glenn; Kelsey Tomlinson, a freshman from Cuyahoga Falls, OH as Cassie; Aaron Reese, a sophomore from Union Town, OH as Officer Welch; and Sarah Allan, a freshman from Peninsula, OH as Officer Pudney. Rudy Roggenkamp Jr., professor of theatre and Chair of the Department of Theatre, is the scenic and lighting designer and technical director and Deb Lotsof, professor of theater, is the costume designer for the theatrical performance.
The Rodman Playhouse is located on the corner of Simpson Street and Union Avenue on the Mount Union College campus. Tickets are $8 for general admission. For more information or to order tickets, please call (330) 821-2565. Tickets are complimentary for Mount Union faculty, staff and students.
