Message from the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Director

The Physical Therapy program at the University of Mount Union is the first professional doctoral degree in the University’s history. It is an honor to be the founding Department Chairperson and Director of this program. Our curriculum is a blend of traditional lecture and laboratory courses and problem-based learning. We thread Interprofessional education throughout the curriculum and partner with Northeastern Ohio Medical University to provide students with an Interprofessional emersion opportunity.

The Physical Therapy Profession is dynamic and our program will prepare you to meet the challenges of this exciting and rewarding field. Our program is guided by the profession’s vision:

Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience.

Additionally, we incorporate the principles of wellness, rehabilitation, and lifespan growth and development. We have a partnership with many local physical therapy clinics, hospitals, extended care facilities, and continuing care retirement communities. I look forward to working with you as you take the next steps toward obtaining your career goals.
