Dr. Anthony Campolo to Present Carr Lecture October 30

Dr. Anthony Campolo, founder and president of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education, will present the Mount Union College Carr Lecture on Thursday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mount Union Theatre.
Campolo is professor emeritus of sociology at Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. He previously served for 10 years on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Eastern College and earned a doctoral degree from Temple University.
As an ordained minister, Campolo has served American Baptist Churches in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is recognized as an associate pastor of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in West Philadelphia.
The Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education creates and supports programs for “at-risk” children in cities across North America and helps establish schools and universities in several developing countries.
Campolo is the author of 35 books and is a media commentator on social, political and religious matters.
The Joseph M. Carr Lectureship was established in 1916 by the Carr family in memory of the Reverend Joseph M. Carr, D.D. a close associate of President Hartshorn in the early days of Mount Union College. The conditions under which the lectureship was given state that the lecture shall always be upon the subject, "The Mission of the Christian College to the World."
